Everything is Authentically Zoefia
Zoefia (Zoe) Alexandria, was 2 years old when she was diagnosed with Pineoblastoma, a rare and aggressive type of cancer which starts in the cells of the brain’s Pineal gland, it is at this point that Zoefia’s life and all who cherished her would change, looking back now seeing things through her eyes we can only wonder and ask ourselves how, why, and where. The initial doctors did emergency lifesaving surgery, Zoe came out smiling and charged up, sure she endured major brain surgery and more than likely was in pain but she never showed it, the love she received and the love she gave in return kept all heart breaking thoughts at bay, days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months, months turned into years, this was a disease that offered merely months of life after diagnosis, a small percentage could possibly see a few years, Zoefia was in that small percentile bracket, she was a fighter and clearly determined to beat the odds, several doctors would see short time ahead, a few days maybe a week after viewing MRI results or looking at her then current state of health, Zoe would prove them wrong. Zoefia would endure numerous surgeries, different levels of chemotherapy, radiation treatment, clinical trials among other medications to combat and counter side effects, Zoe just kept smiling and loving, she brought joy and laughter to all who spent time with her, she never tired to show love and affection, it was something infectious almost magical you could say, she simply left an indelible impression and memory upon your heart and soul, Zoefia gave us the strength and we leaned on her little shoulders with smiles and laughter, she loved to learn, she enjoyed being amongst her peers, her favorite color was Green and she made it known, she was very adamant at telling mommy ” she(Zoe) was the Boss”, her favorite holiday was Christmas, the innocence of a child the twinkling in their eyes when they open presents or seeing Santa, Zoe enjoyed birthday parties and amusement park adventures. To ask How, Why, Where? How was such a beautiful little person able to stand so strong and courageous while facing uncertainty and insurmountable odds, Why was she taken from us so soon? Why does deadly diseases such as Pineoblastoma and many other pediatric cancers exists? Where are the cures? So many children enter this world, and their Cancer battle starts almost immediately, some little ones similar to Zoefia get a few short years of life and then things get turned upside down, what about the families, the strain to keep smiling, show your little one you love them, and it will be OK even when you are unsure what tomorrow will bring. This is where Zoefia’s Legacy will live on, we cherish her videos, her pictures her adventures, and this is our mission….
The Zoefia Alexandria Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is very passionate about carrying out the mission of honoring Zoefia’s life and her courageous battle against Brain Cancer, Through contributions and private funding, our goal is help to enrich the life and development of Cancer Children and their families, what Zoe enjoyed we will share with children and families, her passion for learning, she loved having stories read to her, she enjoyed picking farms, water color painting, coloring with crayons, baking, adventure-land of Long Island which was close to her home, her favorite holiday, birthdays both hers and others, thanksgiving, Halloween and Easter. To live up to our mission in Honoring Zoefia our goal is to bring these and other exciting events, trips and holiday/ birthday themes to little ones fighting their cancer battle, Zoefia always smiled, was always happy and that kept us going, and it’s her smiles, laughter and happiness we want to carry on, it’s hard for families to smile when all seems bleak, to plan a simple trip or just plan a party it doesn’t have to be a birthday, do it just because, maybe a milestone of chemotherapy treatment, maybe taking a first step after a medical procedure, something Zoefia did after a period of medical Coma, she learned to walk again and walked across her graduation hall, it’s these moments that the smile and laughter makes it all worthwhile, it lifts their little spirits to fight harder.
Through the Zoefia Alexandria Foundation, there will be contributions given through Donations in her honor to help further their pediatric cancer research {PINEOBLASTOMA BRAIN CANCER RESEARCH}, to get answers to the Why’s…. and place a CURE FOUND next to the Where. we will not stop, we will not tire, we will not give up hope.
Join us on this mission, so kids across the globe can have a fighting chance at life’s basic struggles, eating, learning to walk, potty training, growing, learning, adolescent into young person unto teenage and then adulthood, and not a fighting chance at life itself….
